Child trafficking is a transnational organized crime that violates fundamental human rights and poses a serious threat to the rule of law by undermining justice, accountability, and the protection of children.
Observed annually on 30 July, the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is a global call to strengthen efforts to combat trafficking.
In the lead-up to this day, Jurists for Children Worldwide (JCW), co-founded by the World Jurist Association and Just Rights for Children (JRC), is convening a webinar on Child Trafficking: Strengthening Accountability. JCW is building a global network of jurists dedicated to advancing justice for children. The webinar will bring together judges, prosecutors, lawyers, academics, and child rights experts to examine emerging threats in child trafficking, discuss challenges in prosecution and victim protection, share good practices, and identify pathways for strengthening legal responses.
