Building a Just World for Children
VISION
Jurists for Children WorldWide (JCW) seeks to build a world where every child lives free from violence - protected by just and enforceable laws, empowered institutions, and a vigilant civil society that collectively champions children's rights, while advancing the rule of law to ensure justice for all children.
As a joint initiative of World Jurist Association (WJA) and Just Rights for Children (JRC), the idea of a global network of jurists for children, Jurists for Children WorldWide (JCW), originates from the dire necessity of increased legal action to create a deterrent for the prevention of crimes against children and protection of children through the rule of law. Through the JCW Initiative, WJA and JRC will work to ensure greater justice for children worldwide, including advocacy for more robust laws and policies; increased enforcement of laws, prosecutions and strengthening of institutions through the filing of Public Interest Litigations (PILs)/Strategic Litigations, and enhancing the capacity of civil society actors, and all child protection stakeholders for systemic behavioural change.
